A Trip to the Future: 2024 Design Trends

One of the most important aspects of interior design is the colour you use in a space. Colour

can make a space brighter or darker, playful or chic. Did you know that some colours even

stimulate appetite and are therefore often used in restaurants or dining rooms?

The effect that colour has on our homes is undeniably important. Now, design experts have predicted the top nine best paint colours of 2024. Continue reading to choose your favorite!

First up are the blue colours. Blue has always been a favorite to use in interior design and is

expected to be used a great deal in 2024 interiors. We’re likely to see a lot of shades such as

Chinese Blue by Farrow & Ball and Stardew by Sherwin-Williams. Chinese Blue is a clean,

bright and rich colour; its addition can make a room more playful. On the other hand,

Stardew is a more subtle and lighter blue, ideal for adding colour to a space without making

it feel dark or too bold.

The 2024 list includes one green colour, surprising considering that green was so popular

the past few years. At Noya Design we love using shades of green to bring calm and a

welcoming feeling to our interiors. The green that has made the list of 2024's colour trends

is Crystalline by Benjamin Moore - this green maintains neutrality whilst freshening up a

room.

Next on the list are the browns. These are perhaps the most surprising colours on the list,

but according to experts, rich browns are making a big comeback! You might even say that

brown is the new green. What we love most about these browns is the warmth they add to

a room, an example being London Clay by Farrow & Ball. This warm and charming brown

offers flexibility when working with other colours and can add drama to a space, perhaps a

narrow hallway.

Ganache and Chocolate, browns by Little Greene are also on the trending list: Ganache, a

dark chocolate brown, pairs perfectly with natural materials like wicker, rattan, warm wood,

and stone. Chocolate works equally well inside; use this as a warmer alternative

where you might previously have considered dark blues or even blacks.

Black is undeniably a significant element of modern interior design and is even considered

the new neutral by some. Cracked Pepper by Behr is a soft black that can add an abundance

of elegance to a space. Create a statement in your space, don’t be afraid of using black!

Last but certainly not least, we have a red colour called Fireweed by Sherwin-Williams on

the list. Red is a colour that can sometimes be intimidating, especially in interior design.

Some find it a little too aggressive, but when used in the correct tone and in the right space,

it can be perfect! Like the browns previously mentioned, red can also bring a cosy and

comfortable warmth to a space. Fireweed is the perfect tone to use in spaces where groups

gather due to its energy and stimulating qualities.

The 2024 colour trends offer a diverse palette that can transform your living spaces in

exciting ways. Whether you prefer a playful blue, a calm and welcoming green, the drama

and richness of browns, the elegance of black or the stimulating energy of red, there's a

colour choice to suit every taste and style. Our team at Noya Design Studio can expertly

incorporate these stunning colours into your space, ensuring a design that not only follows

the latest trends but also stands the test of time.
